Here at Fairfield Garage, we carry out vehicle diagnostics that cover most types of vehicles. We use traditional equipment and the latest upto date tools such as a Texa Diagnostic Scan Tool for the European cars, Carman scan lite for the Japanese and Asian vehicles along with a Sykes Pickavant scan tool for the older vehicles. We also use a Pico Oscilloscope to diagnose and repair faults.
Diagnostic testing has become a major part of our activities, due to the increased use of electronics in the modern motor vehicle. Even a well serviced car can fall foul to electrical problems!. Most modern cars can have upwards of over 50 ECUs (electronic control units) to control everything from engine management to electric windows.
Most diagnostic testing costs start at £30.00 and that will normally cover most instances, but sometimes the problem is not as easy to find and will result in higher costs.
